To register a .CA domain, the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) requires that registrants meet specific Canadian Presence Requirements (CPR). Here are some of the key points: Canadian Presence Requirements for .CA Domain Registration: 1. Canadian Citizens and Residents: 1.1 You must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada. 1.2 This applies whether you're registering the domain as an individual or for a business. 2. Canadian Organizations: 2.1 Organizations, including corporations, partnerships, and trusts, must be incorporated or legally recognized in Canada. 2.2 They must have a physical presence in Canada, such as a head office or a registered business address. 3. Aboriginal Peoples: 3.1 Aboriginal individuals and groups, such as First Nations, Inuit, and Métis, are eligible if they are recognized by the Canadian government. 4. Government Entities: 4.1 Federal, provincial, and municipal government entities or their agencies are eligible to register .CA domains. 5. Trademark Holders: 5.1 Foreign entities that hold a trademark registered in Canada may register a .CA domain if the domain name corresponds to their trademark. 6. Educational Institutions: 6.1 Canadian educational institutions, including schools and universities, can register .CA domains. Documentation and Verification: Verification: CIRA may require documentation to verify that the registrant meets the Canadian Presence Requirements. Documentation: This could include proof of citizenship, residency, business registration, or trademark documentation. Purpose: The purpose of these requirements is to ensure that the .CA domain space remains distinctly Canadian, reflecting its national identity and prioritizing Canadian interests.

Residency requirements .DE domains can be registered from any owner country. When the registrant is not in Germany, an authorized contact located in Germany who can receive official or court documents on their behalf is required. The authorized contact details must be provided within two weeks when requested by the registry. Nameserver requirements Activation requires at least two name servers. Nameservers must be active on two different subnets and authoritative for the domain name at registration. When a name is registered, and the nameservers are not active, the registrant has 30-days to activate and park the name on them. If the 30-day period completes without active nameservers, DENIC deletes the domain name without providing any refund. The inactive nameservers associated with the domain name can be modified for 30 days, subject to DENIC verification. The registry ignores activation requests when nameservers don't meet DENIC criteria. When the name servers are inactive on registration, resubmit them once they are valid. The status continues to show as failed until DENIC accepts the active nameservers.
